The MODENA M5 MGN is a consolidating lime mortar that fits perfectly into historical contexts. It is a mass-coloured plaster with exceptional performance.
Modena M5 MGN is a certified structural consolidating mortar/plaster for exterior use, suitable for the consolidation of old masonries. It is a fibre-reinforced, breathable lime plaster of an antique yellow colour that fits perfectly into the historical context.
Structural consolidation: as a certified lime structural consolidation plaster (certified to UNI-EN 998-2), it can be combined with fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP), fibre-reinforced cementitious matrix (FRCM), steel, carbon and other meshes and structural consolidation systems. Being a lime plaster, in addition to its high structural consolidation ability it also guarantees the right elasticity to the masonry.
When the masonry subject to structural consolidation is also affected by rising damp and its accompanying salts, it is important to diagnose the extent of the problem and if needed, first apply a salt-resistant consolidating lime plaster such as the Betoncino Consolidante MGN or the Rinzaffo MGN.
Pointing and bedding: the MODENA M5 MGN can also be used as a pointing and bedding mortar at low and high elevations, being suitable for crack stitching, anchoring and pinning consolidation works.

The MGN Structural Consolidation System is designed to strengthen masonry and vaulted structures using lime-based structural mortars, reinforced with glass fibre mesh and connectors. It combines traditional lime mixes with modern reinforcement to create a continuous structural layer across the surface of the wall.
Unlike concrete-based systems, which are dense, rigid and often too strong for historic masonry, this system is built around materials that are very similar to the original fabric. Lime mortars are more flexible, more accommodating of movement, and able to absorb and redistribute stresses rather than forcing them into the masonry.
